After a week of surging oil prices after the US and its Allies imposed sanctions on Russia over its conflict with Ukraine, the price of crude oil
surged to a new high, opening Monday with US and Brent futures up more than 10%. Brent crude briefly neared $140 and WTI crude futures
briefly topped $130 a barrel, both the highest since 2008.
